What Changes on ACCS
A Re-Architecture, Not a Lift-and-Shift
Adobe Commerce as a Cloud Service (ACCS) is Adobe's SaaS version of Adobe Commerce: versionless, with no access to core code. Custom functionality moves out of the codebase into App Builder, storefronts run on Edge Delivery Services, and data held in custom tables has to be relocated. Adobe provides a migration assessment tool and data migration tooling — bulk migration is currently in Early Access through Adobe's own engagement process — so a successful move starts with an honest audit. MageBytes audits your store, plans a phased migration and carries it out.

How We Migrate
Five Phases From PaaS to ACCS
Each phase is usable on its own, so value arrives before the final cutover.
- 1
Readiness Audit
Adobe's assessment plus manual review of every extension, table and integration, ending in a clear recommendation.
- 2
Prepare on PaaS
Upgrade to the latest version, adopt Catalog Service, and move customisations to App Builder while still on PaaS.
- 3
Rebuild the Storefront
A new storefront on Edge Delivery Services, built against your current catalogue.
- 4
Migrate Data
Bulk migration of catalogue, customers and orders, followed by incremental sync up to cutover.
- 5
Cut Over & Optimise
A rehearsed go-live with redirects and monitoring, then ongoing performance and conversion work.

Got Questions?
ACCS Migration FAQs
Scope, data, storefront and timing — answered.
An upgrade keeps your codebase and moves it to a newer version. ACCS is a different, SaaS architecture with no access to core code, so customisations are rebuilt as App Builder extensions, the storefront moves to Edge Delivery Services, and custom data is relocated.
No. Adobe continues to support Adobe Commerce on cloud infrastructure (PaaS). Our audit tells you whether ACCS fits your store now, later, or not yet.
A customisation inventory with a recommended path for each module, a review of custom data and integrations, the storefront rebuild scope, a phased roadmap with effort estimates, and a clear recommendation.
No. ACCS storefronts run on Edge Delivery Services, so the storefront is rebuilt using Adobe's storefront components and your design system.
Adobe provides bulk data migration tooling, currently in Early Access through Adobe's own engagement process, and incremental migration APIs that move only new or changed records. Running a bulk migration first and syncing changes until cutover keeps downtime short.
Each one is reviewed: some are rebuilt out-of-process with App Builder and API Mesh, some are replaced by built-in ACCS or marketplace features, and some can simply be retired.
