What Is Dynamics 365 Sales
Microsoft's Sales CRM, Set Up for Your Team
Dynamics 365 Sales is Microsoft's sales force automation application, part of the Dynamics 365 customer engagement family. It manages leads, accounts, contacts, opportunities, products, quotes and forecasts on Microsoft Dataverse, and works inside Outlook and Teams so reps can log activity where they already work. Depending on the licence, it adds Copilot assistance, AI-driven insights, the sales accelerator for guided follow-ups, and agents that help research and qualify leads. MageBytes implements Dynamics 365 Sales around your sales process, migrates your existing CRM data and integrates it with your ERP and online store.

Dynamics 365 Sales is configured in a development environment, with demos to key users as each area is completed.
- 4

Trial migrations of accounts, contacts and open deals, followed by testing of real sales scenarios from lead to quote.
- 5
Launch & Adoption
Role-based training, go-live support and a review of usage after the first weeks to remove friction for reps.
In Depth
Getting Dynamics 365 Sales Right
What makes the difference between a sales CRM reps rely on and one they work around.
- Start with the sales process, not the software
- Choosing the right licence
- Copilot and sales agents
- Connecting sales to ERP and ecommerce
- Dynamics 365 Sales or another CRM?
Start with the sales process, not the software
Most failed CRM projects fail on adoption, not technology. If stages don't match how deals really progress, or reps must fill in fields nobody uses, the pipeline goes stale within weeks. We start by agreeing what a qualified lead is, what has to be true for a deal to move stage, and which information managers genuinely need.
That keeps Dynamics 365 Sales lean: fewer required fields, clear stage exit criteria, and dashboards that answer real questions about pipeline coverage and conversion.
Choosing the right licence
Dynamics 365 Sales is sold as Professional, Enterprise and Premium, plus Microsoft Relationship Sales, which pairs Sales Enterprise with LinkedIn Sales Navigator. Professional covers core sales force automation with limited customisation. Enterprise adds advanced customisation, contextual insights and Copilot in Dynamics 365. Premium includes everything in Enterprise plus sales intelligence, AI-recommended actions and a monthly allowance of Copilot Credits for Microsoft's sales agents. Microsoft adjusts what each tier includes, so we check your requirements against the current licensing guide before you buy, and mix licence types only where the rules allow it.
Copilot and sales agents
Copilot in Dynamics 365 Sales can summarise accounts and opportunities, prepare for meetings and draft follow-up emails. Microsoft also offers purpose-built agents, such as the Sales Qualification Agent, that research inbound leads and suggest next steps. Copilot features come with Sales Enterprise and Premium, while the agents run on Copilot Credits, included with Premium and available to buy separately. Results depend on region and data quality, so we assess them during discovery and switch on the ones that help your team.
Connecting sales to ERP and ecommerce
Sales teams lose time when they have to ask finance for order status or credit limits. We integrate Dynamics 365 Sales with Business Central, Finance and Supply Chain Management and other ERPs so accounts, products, prices and orders stay in step. For businesses that also sell online, Magento, Adobe Commerce or Shopify customers and orders can appear on the same account record, giving reps the full picture before a call.
- Accounts & customer numbers
- Products & price lists
- Orders & invoices
- Credit limits & status
Dynamics 365 Sales or another CRM?
Dynamics 365 Sales fits best where the business already runs on Microsoft 365, Teams and Azure, or on Microsoft ERP. Salesforce Sales Cloud has a broader third-party ecosystem; HubSpot is often quicker to adopt for smaller, marketing-led teams; and a custom CRM can make sense for highly specialised processes. Because we implement all of them, we'll recommend the one that suits your team rather than the one we happen to sell.
